Sixth form opens its doors to year 11 students
Date published: 13 October 2011
Rochdale Sixth Form College will be opening its doors to all Year 11 students and their parents this Saturday (15 October) between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
Students, and their parents or carers, will be given a glimpse into College life, can tour the state of the art facilities, meet existing students and teachers and find out more about the wide range of A Level and enrichment courses on offer at Rochdale Sixth Form College.
Principal of Rochdale Sixth Form College, Julian Appleyard, who will be greeting visitors on Saturday with welcome speeches at 11.00am and 12.30pm, said: “Choosing where to study for your A Levels is quite a daunting decision for most students. On Saturday, we’re aiming to ‘bring to life’ the Rochdale Sixth Form College experience, so that students will leave feeling better-equipped to make this important decision.”
Since its inception in 2010, the College has gone from strength-to-strength, with its first intake of students performing outstandingly well in this year’s AS Levels – placing the College in the top 5 per cent, in value added terms, nationally.
