A tasty treat for charity

The novelty cake donated by John Finlay
Heywood Fire Station's charity car wash stood out from the others that took place across Greater Manchester recently - when a local caterer donated a cake for fire-fighters to raffle off to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.
The novelty fire engine cake was donated by John Finlay, of Ave Your Cake, and was raffled off helping the station raise a staggering total of £1,472 from the day.
Ian Tracey, Heywood's Station Manager, said: "To say the cake was impressive is an understatement. It was clear a lot of time and creativity had gone into making this cake on behalf of the charity.
"Mr Finlay has also offered to bake a cake for the opening of the new fire station in Rochdale at the cost of just the ingredients."
