Training triumph for salon’s apprentices

Date published: 12 October 2011

Five apprentices from Gregory Couzens Hair Salon, based on The Walk, Rochdale, have achieved 100 per cent success in NVQ Level 2 hairdressing.

Caroline Abrahams, Lauren Birkin, Robin Finc, Rachael Lear and Jenny Warrington trained in conjunction with the salon and Bury College and their achievements have been recognised at a special celebration evening at the salon.

The salon, owned by Greg Couzens, has previously been awarded for its commitment to investing in staff via apprenticeships.

Mr Couzens said: “Training is our lifeblood and something we take seriously.

“Bury College has a proven track record of exemplary standards and I am proud to be part of a creative winning team.

“Investing in training for the next generation is something I feel very passionate about.

“I am so proud of my girls, they have worked so hard to achieve 100 per cent success and this is just the beginning, they are now in intensive training in the art of Barbering, when successful we will be opening a barbershop specialising in cutting men’s hair.

“The partnership with Bury College is exceptional and I would like to thank them for their dedication and commitment towards training.”
