Alice Ingham RC Primary School

Date published: 12 October 2011

It was smiles all round this week at Alice Ingham School as everyone had their photographs taken, individually and in family groups. We are looking forward to seeing the results - they will make great Christmas presents. Don’t miss your opportunity to order extra copies.

This week Reception children are looking at their Autumn environment and making hedgehogs ready for hibernation.

Year 1 are taking their Pirate topic really seriously, they have been designing pirate ships this week.

Year 2 have been to Middleton CLC to design a Narnia mug using their ICT skills.

Some very fierce Viking songs have been heard coming from Year3 classroom this week.

Year 4 are preparing menus for their Tudor banquet as well as rehearsing some Tudor songs and dances for the entertainment.

Year 5 have made a superb Photostory presentation for the whole school based on their trip to Moorland Home.

Year 6 performed magnificently at Saint Cuthbert’s Arts Festival on Tuesday evening. It was a great opportunity to perform with other Year 6 pupils from the town and to see their talent too. It was a shame that so few of our parents were there, your children would have made you proud!

Coffee afternoons have been organised by a few of our parents for all of our parents. These are held every other Tuesday, just to welcome everyone and give you an opportunity to come into your child’s school and feel part of their school life, no one has to do anything except enjoy a cup of tea/coffee. This week no one came - a big disappointment your children would love to know that you had been in their school, please try to come next time.

Staff at school organised a very important information sharing session on Wed about keeping your child safe on the Internet at home and at school. Again no one came. Please support us. We need to work together.

Congratulations to all our Year 3 children and their families who started the Sacramental Programme on Thursday at St Patrick’s church.

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday for a special celebration at church on Sunday morning 16 October at 10.00am.

Thank you to everyone who has already sent in gifts of food for our Harvest Festival next week.

Everyone is very very welcome to attend the Harvest Festival on Thursday 20 Oct at 9.30am. We look forward to seeing you.
