Hospice needs your votes

Springhill Hospice

Springhill Hospice has been shortlisted for the chance to win a £6,000 grant from Natwest Community Force – and needs your votes to secure the money.

The hospice, on Broad Lane, provides specialist Palliative Care for people with life-limiting illness. If they win the grant they would spend the money on new mattresses.

A post from the Hospice on the Natwest Community Force website, reads: “We are currently replacing our mattresses. Mattresses today are far superior to those purchased by us over 10 years ago. Our chosen mattress provides high pressure relief, and results in improvements to pain management.

“The mattress improves comfort particularly for patients who are suffering with increased pain due to their condition. This results in a decrease in the need for breakthrough pain medication, which then contributes to a more effective treatment outcome for patients in our care.”
