Mr Paul Taylor – British Triathlon Association - It is with immense sadness that I inform you of the death of Paul Taylor after a brief illness. Paul has been instrumental in the development of our after school clubs which focused on cycling and swimming and he used his role within the national association to supports Garry Smith and David Butterworth in organizing Redwood’s Triathlon. Paul sponsored an award at our Sports Review Awards in July and having spoken to his wife, we will continue the legacy he has left at Redwood. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

Key stage 4 - Year 10 and 11 have had a very busy week, there has been all sorts of things happening in and out of School. 4L have been busy looking at recent topics in the newspaper and positive social behaviour. They looked at the two topics together when they researched Child Cage fighting: was this a positive social behaviour children should be studying or be involved with?

Sixth form -Elections took place with students making their way to the polling stations in the social area to place their votes. Every student exercised their right to choose the person of their choice to be the voice for them in 6th Form. The atmosphere was very intense as the votes were counted and the winners announced. The students representing 6th Form on the school council are; Danielle, Laura, Callan, Ellis and Andrew S.

The students on the 6th Form student council will be; Aiden, Sarah, Declan L, Sophie and Louis. The group will meet weekly over lunch and we will keep you updated after our first meeting.
A very important role awaits you all for the year ahead as you become ambassadors and a voice for 6th Form. Well done and we wish you all the best.
