Bright future for college student

A Hopwood Hall College student has bagged a place at University after achieving the highest grade possible in his college course.

Abbas Khan, 20, achieved a triple distinction on the BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Business Studies and has secured a place Manchester University to study BA degree in Accounting.

Mr Khan described his course as “very interesting.” He added: “I really enjoyed my 2 years at Hopwood because the tutors were very kind and supportive during the course.

“Tutors encouraged us to work independently to achieve all goals set, which equipped us with a good foundation of skills and knowledge to take forward to university.”

Mr Khan is hoping to get himself a graduate placement in the accounting and finance sector and then work towards his Chartered Accountant status.

Tutor Elaine Morley said: “Abbas was a good all round student in that he worked very well in teams and independently. We wish him every success on his chosen career path and do not doubt that he will excel once again.”
