A right Royle event for hospice

Date published: 27 September 2011

As part of national Hospice Care Week, the Right Reverend Roger Royle, Honorary Canon of Southwark Cathedral, will be taking to the stage, in aid of Springhill Hospice.

‘Another Evening with Roger Royle’ to be held at St Aidan’s Church, Manchester Road, Sudden, repeats the very popular evening held at the same venue some years ago when Canon Royle entertained the audience with his stories, particularly his close link with Radio 2’s Breakfast with Wogan and Sunday Half Hour. That evening, as a tribute to Roger’s late friend, Bishop David Bonser, raised £1,000 for Springhill.

One of this country’s best and most-loved raconteurs, Canon Royle will be joined by St Aidan’s Church Choir, who will be singing a selection of songs between Roger’s stories.

Sarah Ford, Income Services Lead at Springhill Hospice, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Roger back to Rochdale and I am sure that we will once again have a full house. Everyone is most welcome.”

The event takes place on Sunday 9 October 2011 and commences at 6:00pm.

Tickets for the event, sponsored by Shepherd Printers, are available from Springhill Hospice on 01706 649920 or from Keith Lloyd on 01706 648955 at £5.00 per person which includes tea, coffee and biscuits.
