Healey Primary School
The Reception children are now in full time and though very tired by the end of their busy day are settling down and working hard. Next week is the first of the Reception Class help for parents meetings. This first session is “Helping your child with reading”. The sessions start at 3:30pm after school, and last for an hour. Mrs Collinge will be available to offer help, ideas and advice on how to make reading fun in these early days and how the right approach will really give your child a head start.
On Thursday the Year 6 class are spending the day at Whitworth High School to experience secondary education prior to next September. Whitworth High School are providing transport and the children need to be here at the normal time and in school uniform.
Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Award by the excellent Kinetic Theatre last Friday directly after the fabulous performance of Robin and the Withering Wood.

Year 2 managed to achieve 100 per cent attendance but overall school attendance was the best it has ever been with a staggering 98.3 per cent. Well done everyone.
All children should have brought home a letter about joining The Royal Bank of Scotland. If you would like your child to take part in this simple savings scheme which is run through school all you have to do is complete the form which has been sent home and then follow the instructions on the letter.
The new musical instruments have been issued and the timetables fixed. If your child takes additional music lessons in school you will have been issued with an invoice which needs to be paid by Friday 14 October.
We have started the Walk to School charts. If your child walks to school at least three times a week, they will qualify for a WOW badge. We are also continuing with the Bike It stamps.
Finally, a letter has been sent out regarding PE days. All children should have appropriate PE kit for their lesson and we are ensuring now that children are adequately prepared for this. Please can you work with your child to make sure they have their kit on the right day.
