Careers expertise recognised
Date published: 26 September 2011
Five of the borough’s schools have been recognised for the quality of the careers advice they provide to their students at an Inspiring IAG award ceremony.
Inspiring IAG is a quality award which recognises good careers information, advice and guidance among organisations that work with young people.
At the celebratory event, Holy Family RC and CE College, Redwood School and St Anne’s Academy received the bronze level and Oulder Hill Community School & Language College and the Federation of Brownhill and PRS received silver awards.
The award is in three stages - bronze, silver and gold. In addition to those schools honoured at the awards presentation, Middleton Technology School, Siddal Moor Sports College, St. Cuthbert’s RC Business and Enterprise College, Wardle High School and the Youth Offending Team have also achieved the bronze level.
Jo Manfred, 14-19 Development Officer at Rochdale Borough Council, said: It was a wonderful afternoon giving all of us the chance to celebrate and recognise the achievements of schools and other organisations across Greater Manchester in giving young people the best chance of making a successful start to their careers.”
