Shoppers visiting the Exchange Shopping Centre on Saturday (17 September) were given an exciting surprise – when a flash mob emerged.
The sudden mass gathering, similar those on TV adverts, was completely unanticipated by shoppers but they were keen to stop their weekend shopping to watch the performance.
The flash mob started with one performer singing to the song ‘Crazy’ by Gnarls Barkley; others then joined in and the showcase continued for a brief time, attracting a crowd, before the mob dispersed leaving the shoppers some what bemused.
A spokesperson for the Exchange, said: “The flash mob kept growing in size as the song went on and as they grew so did the crowd of people around them all eager to see what was going on.”
One member of the crowd, said: “I have seen flash mobs online and on television but I never thought I’d see one live and in Rochdale.”
