NHS HMR Annual General Meeting
Date published: 09 September 2011
NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (NHS HMR) is holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 27 September.
NHS HMR is the local leader of the NHS in the Rochdale borough and is responsible for commissioning the best healthcare services possible to improve the health of local people. In the last year there have been many changes to the health landscape. As well as undergoing one of the largest transitions in the country with community services moving to Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust in April 2011, NHS HMR has also been preparing for the transfer of Public Health into Rochdale Borough Council next year and working closely with GP commissioning colleagues as they move forward towards new Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) arrangements.
As part of the plans to make a positive difference to the health, wellbeing and quality of life of the people of Rochdale borough a number of new initiatives have been launched over the past year including ‘Feel Good with the Dale’, ‘It’s a Goal’ and the ‘Know Your Limits’ campaign. NHS HMR has also been working with local and regional partners to introduce a number of strategies to tackle health challenges in the borough.
Further information on these and the progress and achievements made by the Trust can be found in their annual report and financial accounts for 2010/11, which will be presented at the AGM.
With millions to invest in improving local health services, it’s important that the public know exactly how the money is being spent, according to the Acting Chairman, David Edwards: “The Annual General Meeting is an opportunity for you to meet the people behind the organisation, learn what progress we have made, what the key issues are and ultimately, tell us what you think.”
The AGM is free and anyone can attend. It will take place on Tuesday 27 September from 5pm – 6.30pm in the Board Room, 3rd Floor, Telegraph House, Baillie Street, Rochdale. OL16 1JA.
