Metrolink work will affect Newhey residents
Date published: 08 September 2011
As part of the works to construct the Newhey stop on the Oldham and Rochdale Metrolink extension, Transport for Greater Manchester has sought permission from RMBC to carry out work outside their usual hours of construction.
On Sunday 18 and Sunday 25 September Transport for Greater Manchester contractors will be working between 10am and 4pm to install the structure for a new substation at Huddersfield Road/Railway Road, Newhey. The new structure will be erected with the use of a large mobile crane which should arrive on site this weekend.
TfGM has posted a letter (see PDF below) to the 69 affected properties informing them of this work.
