Welcome back to everyone.

We have made a good start to the new school year and trust that this will continue. Next week, on Friday 16 September, the Year 6 children will be taking part in the Crucial Crew and need to be ready to leave at 08.45am promptly. They will be back in time for dinner. Also on the 16 (Friday) Year 3 – Mrs Smith’s class are walking down to Touchstones in the Town Centre in the morning to take part in a Roman Invasion Workshop.

Important notice for music lessons: Brass lessons have moved from Friday to Tuesday and will start on 13 September. Quite a lot of the music timetable has changed so we advise that parents be patient until the lesson times and days settle. We will try to give as much advance notice as possible. The offer of introducing guitar lessons has had a high response, therefore we will negotiate with the music service to timetable this in, and let you know as soon as this has been arranged. The children in Year 3 are eligible now for additional music lessons and a letter has been issued to invite any children who want to learn an instrument to take part. The cost of music lessons has been increased to £3 per lesson by the Rochdale Music Service. Mrs Theobold will invoice for the music lessons half termly.

As usual September is the Rainbow House Children’s Hospice Appeal month. This year we have for sale (from Mrs Taylor’s office) mini ‘barnyard bright’ LED key rings and mini sock purses for £1 and crystal set key rings for £1.50. The items tend to sell out quickly.

We are intending to send out a timetable for the term with all the various visiting plays and theatres groups where a financial contribution is requested. This is in response to parent suggestion and should help you to plan ahead.
