Armed robbery at Tesco Express

A robbery took place at Tesco Express Edenfield Road, on Thursday 25 August at approximately 9.45pm.

Four males pulled up outside the store in a dark vehicle, three masked males, all of whom are carrying weapons, got out, entered the store and forced customers and staff to the floor and stole cigarettes from behind the till.

The robbery followed an attempted robbery at the same Tesco Express on Edenfield Road, the day before (Wednesday 24 August) between 11.15pm and midnight.

A member of staff locked up the store and made his way to his home address. As he walked along Silver Street he was grabbed and then bundled into a black vehicle and taken back to rob the store.
