Bank’s customers left without cash

Date published: 31 August 2011

Customers of the NatWest bank in Rochdale town centre are being turned away this morning (31 August) following problems with the bank's system.

People arriving at the branch, on Town Hall Square, are being informed by staff  that the branch won’t be opening due to a system failure – meaning customers can not deposit or withdraw cash from the branch.

The ATM machines outside the bank are also out of order.

Staff told customers they don’t know when service at the branch will resume.

A spokesperson for Natwest was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
