Chef Aazam Ahmad showed shoppers how it’s done in ASDA, Dane Street, Rochdale
Award winning chef Aazam Ahmad raised a few eyebrows in the aisles as he brought his live cookery show into a supermarket this week.
The popular BBC Fusion Chef visited the ASDA store in Rochdale, setting up his own mini kitchen before demonstrating his cooking skills in front of customers, as part of the run up to the Feel Good Festival.
Aazam rustled up dishes including salmon with sweet chilli and pineapple, served with egg noodles, showing just how easy it is to cook tasty and delicious food quickly.
In addition to television appearances on programmes such as ‘Grubs Up’, food guru Aazam is a regular at some of the most prestigious food shows, including the BBC Good Food Show in Birmingham and the Mela Festival in London.
“We had a lot of fun today, and it was great to see people getting so involved … there are lots of really tasty recipes that can be made in minutes,” said Aazam.
Nicola Smith, events co-ordinator for ASDA said it was great to have a chef in store.
She added: “We’re always keen to promote healthy eating, so whilst it’s quite unusual to have a professional chef cooking whilst you’re doing your shopping, it’s a great way of showing people what you can do with just a few simple fresh ingredients in minutes.”
