Officers from GMP's Video Evidence Retrieval and Analysis unit have spoken of the massive operation to bring to justice those responsible for the disorder in Manchester and Salford city centres.

It is just over two weeks since officers faced looting and disorder on a massive scale and around 200 officers are working round-the-clock to catch offenders. Around 100 officers alone have been viewing still and moving images in an effort to identify those responsible.

Detective Inspector Mike Mangan, who is running the VERA unit, said: "Our unit is dedicated to pouring over the thousands of hours of still and moving footage and our message is simple - if you were involved in the trouble then there is a very good chance we will have a picture or video of you here. Sooner or later we will be coming for you."

Two weeks on from the disorder in Manchester and Salford, officers from Greater Manchester Police's VERA unit (Visual Evidence Retrieval & Analysis) are continuing to view the CCTV from the night
