Mrs Eves needs a special bed, which will raise to enable her to get out bed without straining her joints and enable her to raise her legs to help her blood flow.

In a bid to raise money for the bed, which is expected to cost around a £1,000, Mr Marshall vowed to take on the snooker challenge.

He played from 9.00pm on Friday (19 August) night to 9.00pm on Saturday night at the Littleborough Conservative Club.

He said: “It went extremely well and I managed to complete the full 24 hours finishing at 9.00pm on the dot.

“There was a celebration of party poppers and champagne from family, friends and club members cheering me on to the final pot.”

He added: “It was a massive challenge and I feel very proud to have completed what I set out to do.

“Money raised came from my family, friends of New Life Christian fellowship and Littleborough Conservative Club came to £637.

“I'm very pleased with this amount as this will be going toward a specialised bed that Dreams Beds in Oldham are helping with.”
