Age UK Metro Rochdale have launched their ‘Dignity in Care’ awards for the third year running.
Following the success of the previous years’ campaigns in recognising the wonderful care given to local older people, members of the public are once again being asked to nominate someone who they feel has shown outstanding dignity in the way they have cared for someone aged 50 years and over.
The four categories for nominations are:
- Hospitals
- Care at Home
- Mental Health
- Residential/Nursing Homes
The award is about continuing to improve the culture of care services and placing a greater emphasis on improving the quality of care and the experience of local people using NHS hospitals, community services, care homes and home support services.
Paul Gala, Chief Officer of Age Concern Metro Rochdale said: “It’s a great opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate those often unsung heroes who make such a difference to the lives of older people.”
The closing date for nominations is 30 September 2011, so those wishing to nominate should contact Age UK on 01706 712515 for a nomination pack. All those shortlisted will be invited to a special Awards Evening on 18 October 2011 at Rochdale Town Hall where the winners will be announced.
