Man in serious condition following incident

A man is in a serious condition in hospital following an incident in Whitworth on Sunday (14 August) night.

Police were called to an address on Market Street at around 10.00pm following reports of an altercation.

A 64-year-old man was taken to hospital, where his condition is described as serious.

Five people have been arrested and subsequently bailed.

Those arrested were four men aged, 64, 59, 46 and 46 and one woman also aged 46.

They have been bailed until the 16 September.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary, said: “Police are investigating the circumstances around exactly what happened.”
