Date published: 13 August 2011

The count down is on for the first ever ‘Lake Festival’ which takes place this August bank holiday weekend.

The festival will be held on the fields between the Soccer Village, Milnrow and Hollingworth Lake and is set to be a huge attraction, offering something for all the family.

The line up includes Salford Jets with Mike Sweeney, Northern Uproar, Girl Peculiar, The Rain Band with Rowetta, Idol Frets and Johnny Sax.

Other attractions include a talent contest, a guitar workshop, an Origami workshop, a funfair, children’s amusements, trade stands, craft stalls, coaching sessions in football, cricket and martial arts and cooking demonstrations.

Organiser Steve Foley, said: “We want Lake Festival to be inclusive and for the local community to become involved  and for the event to have a charitable element for example local jeweller John Alexander will be singing songs from his CD ’18 Roses’ – all  proceeds going to Springhill Hospice.

“Plus there will also be pony rides for children – with all proceeds to Springhill who will have their own stand to promote the wonderful service they provide.”

For exhibition and trade space enquiries, contact Mr Foley on 07966 200895 or 01706 378827 or email steve@lakefestival.co.uk

Admission is £10 per day or £25 for a 3-day pass and children under 10 with adults go free.
