Music students from Falinge Park High School have been asked to perform at the Rochdale Feel Good Festival again this year.
A group of six pupils will be performing a brand new collection of songs, during an afternoon show at Touchstones Arts and Heritage Centre, The Esplanade, Rochdale on Saturday 3 September between 1.00pm – 3.00pm.
The musicians are members of the schools after school song writing workshop, and have composed their own versions of contemporary songs for the festival with help from Music Workshop Leader - Michael Dalby.
The school, has Performing Arts College Specialist Status, and not surprisingly the students jumped at the chance of returning to the Feel Good Festival said Mr Dalby:
“Last year they loved being part of the festival and were talking about it for weeks … they can’t wait to perform this year. They are keen music fans and are hoping lots of people come to support them. I am so proud of their work and it promises to be a superb afternoon.”
The students have been learning all about music theory and music as it applies to modern bands, but you can’t beat a live performance added Michael:
“I think it’s really important that our students get a chance to showcase their work and talent in front of live audiences.”
