Date published: 26 July 2011

Fire-fighters tackled a fire at a former cotton mill on Edenfield Road, Norden, on Monday evening (25 July) – which was started deliberately.

Two crews from Rochdale were called to the mill shortly after 6.30pm.

On arrival they were faced with a fire involving cotton waste and scaffolding boards on the first floor of the three storey building.

The fire service said the cause of the fire was deliberate.

Crews used breaking in gear, a 9 metre ladder a jet and a hose reel.
