Labour leader Ed Miliband and Crompton House pupil Rebecca Symonds
Work experience doesn’t come more glamorous for one Crompton House pupil who is aiming for a career in politics.
Rebecca Symonds got to meet Labour leader Ed Miliband when he visited Rochdale.
The 15-year-old is shadowing Rochdale Council leader Colin Lambert. But rather than a dusty council meeting, the teenager sat in on Mr Miliband’s summit with council leaders from across the country to discuss his plans for a co-operative vision for local government.
The teenager from Rochdale described Mr Miliband as “really nice” and added: “It has been very interesting.”
Her proud mum, Marie, added: “Rebecca is hoping to follow a career in politics and we are a family of Labour supporters.”
