Old shirts In Unit Three next term we will be using clay to make replica artefacts. This is a fun but messy activity. If you have any old clean men’s shirts we could have for the children to use as overalls please bring them into school and give them to any member of staff in Unit 3. Thank you.

Your child’s possessions in school at the end of the school year All the children have been reminded to take home their belongings they no longer need in school i.e. books, coats, shoes, lunchboxes at the end of the school year. If left in school they will be disposed of immediately as we will be closed all summer for further work on our entrance area and school hall and will be unable to store any items left on the premises.

School clothes for next year Please can i urge you to make sure these are labelled with your child’s name. It is quite amazing how many are not labelled, leaving school staff the unenviable task of trying to decide which item belongs to whom! PE kit is white T-shirt, black shorts, slip on pumps in a PUMP BAG. These are available from school. Also please ensure lunch boxes are clearly labelled.

Good bye & best wishes to all our year 6 children & families This is the time of year when, whether they want to or not, all our Year 6’s must move on to pastures new. I really do not think we will forget them in a hurry. Many of the families have had contact with the school for much longer than 7 years and it will be strange to no longer be seeing you any more. As you all move on to new adventures please go with our best wishes for the future and do come back and let us know how you are doing.

Staff changes Our best wishes go to both Mandy Whatmough who will be leaving us to take up a post at Whittaker Moss Primary School and Catherine Pollitt who is starting her maternity leave this summer. Good luck and congratulations to you both.

We also warmly welcome back Karen Roebuck from her recent maternity leave.

Summer holiday Just a reminder that school closes at 3.15 p.m. on TUESDAY, 19TH JULY 2011 for the summer holidays and will re-open on Monday, 5th September 2011. We hope you all have a lovely holiday.
