Petition over Post Office relocation

Castleton Post Office
A petition against the relocation of Castleton Post Office has been presented to Councillors at Rochdale Township.
The relocation of the post office is currently under consultation. The proposals are to move the Post Office from 858-860 Manchester Road to 817 Manchester Road.
Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, presented councillors with a petition and several objection letters. The Council will now look at the best way forward with the petition as the consultation is being carried out by the Post Office.
Concerns over the relocation have been sent to the Action and Resources committee.
Public consultation is open until 2 August 2011. If the plans are given the go ahead the move is likely to happen in September 2011.
