Man rescued after getting stuck in mud

A 46-year-old man has been rescued by fire-fighters after getting stuck up to his waist in mud.
Fire-fighters from Littleborough and a specialist water unit from Heywood were called to Hollingworth Lake at 6.10pm last night (4 July).
On arrival they found a man stuck in mud near the nature reserve.
He was released by the fire service using a hose reel, throw lines, a 9 metre ladder and a life jacket.
