Clothing order:
If you would like to order any items of school clothing for your child a school order will be placed with the clothing company on the 14 July 2011. No orders will be accepted after the morning of the 14 July. Please place any completed order forms in the box in your child’s class. Due to work in school over the summer holidays these orders will not be able to be delivered to school until the start of the Autumn term.

Old shirts:
In Unit Three next term we will be using clay to make replica artefacts. This is a fun but messy activity. If you have any old clean men’s shirts we could have for the children to use as overalls please bring them into school and give them to any member of staff in Unit 3. Thank you.

School meals:
The cost of a school meal will be increased by 5 pence to £1.80 per meal with effect from 5 September 2011. The cost per week will be £9.00. This increase is in line with other schools in Rochdale and at the request of the Local Authority.

Reports will be sent home on 8 July:
All the children will be given their annual written report in a sealed envelope to bring home to you on 8 July. With the report is a letter with a reply slip for comments from both your child and yourself. When these comments are returned they are very useful in two ways – 1. they are added to the records on your child maintained in the school and 2. I use them as part of the evaluation of the reporting process. Please try to return yours.

Picnic and outdoor disco – 8 July:
On Friday 8 July 2011 we are holding our end of term Picnic and Outdoor Disco. All the children who have a school meal, will have a picnic provided by the kitchen. After the picnic, we will hold an outdoor disco with party games (so fingers crossed for good weather).

Violins strings concert:
Our Strings Group will be performing at 9.00 am. on 11 July. Parents will be most welcome to attend. The children in Year 6 will also be receiving their certificates of achievement.
