Matthew Moss High School chose the magnificent setting of Rochdale Town Hall for this year’s prom, and to make the setting even better the sun shone in an almost clear blue evening sky.

Pupil Hennah Irshad said that Matthew Moss had been a “brilliant school to attend.” She added: “Tonight is very exciting because it is a celebration of a really good year group.

"We have been fortunate to have such a good set of teachers who have given us excellent guidance and support but also allowed us to develop our own distinctive personalities.

Hennah wants to be a social worker and will begin a course in health and social work at Bury College in September.

Head teacher, Mr Raymer, said: “They have been a good year and have done really well.

"There are lots of characters, and that comes across tonight, and that is always good to see.

"I wish them all well for the future.”
