Achievements celebrated

People from Rochdale who have been developing their knowledge of health and well being through the use of art and media have been recognised at a special awards ceremony.

The Multicultural Arts and Media Centre (MAMC) has been working closely with Freehold Community Group, Sparth Community Centre, Rochdale and District Mind, Spotland Community Centre and Age Concern UK to provide arts and media opportunities to create awareness of health issues and well being.

The young people recently attended an achievement awards event at the Deeplish Community Centre to celebrate their achievements.

Over 140 young people and parents attended the event and special guests included the Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Alan Godson.

The young people were presented with certificates from Mayor Godson.

The participants had learnt how to producing banners, record songs and film a drama piece. They also visited the Lowry Theatre, Museum of Science and Industry and Media City UK.
