MP’s company goes bust

A company co-founded by Rochdale’s MP, Simon Danczuk, and of which he was the major shareholder and a director, has gone into liquidation.

Urban Visions Limited, that traded as Vision Twentyone, based in Manchester, provided research, communication and consultation services before it went bust earlier this month (June).

Mr Danczuk co-founded the company and was appointed a director of the firm in 1999 and was still a director when the company was wound up on 8 June 2011, and as such responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company which has run up liabilities of £222,384 and has a shortfall as regards creditors of £190,384.

The company has been placed in the hands of liquidators Leonard Curtis. A spokesman for the liquidators was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.

Mr Danczuk failed to respond to an invitation to comment.
