Pupils celebrate the end of school in style
Date published: 24 June 2011
Year 11 pupils from Kingsway Park High School’s Kingsway site (previously Springhill High School) joined together on Friday night (24 June) for their end of school prom.
The youngsters, who have just sat their GCSEs, put aside the revision books and dressed to impress for the stylish event at Richmond Hall.
Head of year 11, Paul Burns, said: “They are the best year group I have ever had, I’ve had a good laugh with them and a lot of them were very hard workers.
“I was only with them for a short space of time but I enjoyed my time with them.
“I’m sorry that they’ve gone.”
Sixteen-year-old Zoe Clements said: “I am hoping to go to Rochdale Sixth Form College or Hopwood Hall to study media studies; I want to work in TV when I am older.
“I will miss school but I am ready to move on.”
Anthony Handley is also hoping to attend Rochdale Sixth Form College and study Law, Psychology, English Language and Government and Politics.
He said: “I have had a good time at school; I’m going to miss it.”
Kingsway Park High School has been split across two sites this academic year, the Kingsway site on Turf Hill and the Queen Victoria site (previously Balderstone Technology College). They have two year 11 groups, one from each site. The Queen Victoria site’s prom is next week.
