Schools celebrate fellowship
Date published: 23 June 2011
Around 500 children from Church of England Primary Schools across the borough joined together on Thursday (23 June) to celebrate fellowship between the schools.
Sixteen schools took part in the event which began with a service at St Chad’s Church.
Banners representing fellowship, made by head teachers from the schools, were dedicated in the service.
The children then walked down the steps from the Church to the Rochdale Town Hall where they enjoyed a picnic lunch in the Great Hall.
The banners were displayed with circles of fellowship to symbolise the family of the Church schools in the borough.
Gillian Rhodes from St Michael’s Bamford described the day as “wonderful” she said: “It is good to get our family of Church schools together.
“This is our first really big event; hopefully it is the start of things to come.”
