Girl, 14, injured following roof fall

A 14-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after falling from the roof of the former Innes Special School on Ings Lane, Rochdale.

The girl was found on the ground by fire-fighters shortly before 7.00pm last night (22 June), having falling approximately 12 feet.

The fire service said the teen had suffered leg injuries and was complaining of numbness in her legs.

She was treated at the scene by fire service trauma technicians and paramedics before being placed on a spine board and taken by ambulance to the Fairfield General Hospital.

It is not yet known how the girl fell from the derelict building.
