Clubs:
Cookery Club will restart in the new school year and children will have to reapply at this time.
Recorder and choir have now also finished for the year.

Bike it Thursdays:
Don’t forget Bike-It Thursdays. Anyone coming to school on their bike will be given a free raffle ticket to go in the draw for a new bike at the end of the year. Those children who come on their bikes on a Thursday can have a free breakfast as long as they are in no later than 8.30am.
If they come on their bike any other day they will be given a raffle ticket (from the office). Please note, free breakfasts will only be given on a Thursday.

Summer Fair:
Our Summer Fair is on Friday 1 July at 3.15pm. We are now collecting donations for ‘Good as New’, toys, etc. 

We are also having a visit from Heywood Fire Service at 3-4pm during the fair. 

Pint Pots:
Today your child will have received a plastic pint pot please fill with sweets, pens, crayons, pencils, hair accessories, small new toys, etc – we will be selling them at the fair. Thank you.

School Trips:
Reception children have been on a trip Smithills Farm at Bolton.
Year 2 children have visited St. Chad’s Church and they also took their packed lunches for a picnic at the Town Hall.
Year 6 children are visiting different places of worship over the next couple of weeks. 

Swimming Gala:
Congratulations to our swimming team for their achievements in the inter school league gala. Year 6 came 3rd, Year 5 came 1st and the team came an overall 3rd. Good luck for the school league gala on Monday.
As a reward for the children turning up all year round, Mrs Taylor has organised a trip to Tenpin Bowling and McDonalds next Tuesday.

NED Show:
On Monday the NED Show is visiting school.

Red Tiger Karate:
On Tuesday Red Tiger Karate Club will be giving a demonstration to the children during assembly.

New Intake:
There is a meeting next Wednesday 29 June at 6.00pm for the parents of children starting in September. The open morning is on Thursday 7 July.

Dinner Time:
Next Wednesday’s lunch theme is ‘Mexican’. There will be a choice of BBQ chicken wraps, chips, vegetable chilli and rice.
Don’t forget Picnic Fridays – there will be no hot dinners on Fridays.
There is a slip on the back of this newsletter for both days – please fill this in if your child does not normally stay for dinner and would like to on Wednesday or Friday. Please note if your child normally stays for dinner, they do not need to do anything.

Dinner Money:
Please send dinner money in on Monday mornings in an envelope with your child’s name and class on. Lunches are £1.75 per day - £8.75 per week.

School Lunches:
There is a copy of the menus on our school portal. Next week we will be on Week 2.

Music Lessons:
Music fees for this half term are now due. Lessons are now £2.85 per week. Please also pay any outstanding music fees in order for lessons to continue.

Castleton Children’s Centre:
The free ‘Stay and Play Sessions’ are here at St. Edward’s on Wednesday mornings 9.30am-10.30am.
