This week’s theme was ‘National Refugee Week’ and our Enterprise capability was ‘Change’.
Children from our feeder primary schools came together on Friday to experience a morning of Expressive Arts here at St Cuthbert’s. It was great to see everyone make friends so quickly and learn lots of new things in art, drama, music and dance.
Congratulations to the 25 Year 10 students who were identified by the RE department as having shown excellent effort throughout the academic year. The group were rewarded with a bowling and laser quest trip last Thursday. Well done to Angelika Denis, Daniella Capper, Davydas Sabaliauskas, Joseph Ready, Benedicte Yende, Billy Ionton, Ephraim Miti, Georgia Harrison, Shannon Hughes, Ross Jepson, Emma Anderton, Chantelle Barratt, Dominic Kay, Jessica Deacy, Cameron Hall, Cameron Merriman, Thomas O’Neil, Alex Jordan, Sophie Ainsley, Natalie Walsh, Hannah Cunningham, Rachel Finigan, Rebecca Coria, Connor Coleman and Jessica Wiehler. Thank you to the RE teachers for accompanying the group on this event.
Year 7 news - Attendance Challenge - Well done form 7.8 with a weekly attendance figure of 99.3 per cent. The form with the best attendance at the end of term will celebrate with breakfast together. "You have to be in to win" - Congratulations to Simon Saju, form 7.4. Year 7 locker keys must now be returned to Mrs Rushton: deposits will be returned in cash to your child.
Study rooms are available for all students who are not in a timetabled GCSE or A level exam. Please note the paved area around the back of the sports hall is not available at breaks and lunch times during the exam period – pupils may only use the senior yard, all weather pitch and fields for playing ball games.
DIARY DATE: our Year 6 Intake Evening will be held on Tuesday 28 June at 6.00pm here in school.
