Still time to get involved with hospice gala day

Date published: 14 June 2011

With just over a week to go until Springhill Hospice’s summer Gala Day and Craft Fair fundraisers at the hospice are reminding people that there is still time to sign up for a stall or donate home-baked goods.

The fair is set to be another must visit attraction in the hospice’s fundraising calendar.

The line-up for the day includes donkey rides, circus workshops and ‘pet’s corner.’

There will also be plenty for the adults to do too, including a Pimms bar and live entertainment.

Ian Jenkins, Springhill Hospice Fundraising Manager, said: “Last year we held a fair and Gala Day in place of our annual Spring Fair, which proved to be very popular.

“Having already had our Spring Fair this year we were looking for something different for summer, so we are having a Craft Fair on our lawns along with attractions at the front of the Hospice – weather permitting.

“We would welcome donations of home-bake goods as they are always popular. Such donations can be delivered to Hospice Reception or can be collected by telephoning the Hospice Fundraising Office on 01706 649920 during office hours.

“In addition, if anybody would like to put a stall in the Craft Fair they can also contact me on the same number.”

The Springhill Hospice Summer Gala Day and Craft Fair takes place on Sunday 26 June, between 10.00am and 3.00pm.

Entry is free of charge and a free Park and Ride service will be operating to and from the Hospice from Kingsway Park High School (formerly Springhill High) as car park space at the Hospice will be extremely limited.
