Oulder Hill Community School
Welcome back - we hope you have had a relaxing and enjoyable half term break. Please note that GCSE and A level exams are well underway now and students that are involved in these should be revising thoroughly. We would be most grateful for any support parents and carers can provide in helping their children prepare for these exams, by discussing their work with them and also helping them to revise.
Oulder Hill School and Sandifords Gallery on Drake Street are joining forces this summer. Mr and Mrs Sandiford have very kindly offered the use of part of their premises to allow us to showcase our students’ art, textiles and technology work. The Exhibition is free and will feature some amazing and innovative work done by our students. If you and your children are in Rochdale over the summer holidays and want to see something different.
Everyone is welcome to visit the gallery and see the work of our fantastically talented students. The exhibition will run from Thursday 14 July and will be displayed throughout the summer until 31 August.
Congratulations to our Under 13 cricket team who beat Siddal Moor in a league match just before the half term break. In a competitive match, Oulder Hill batted first, scoring 59 runs. We then bowled the opposition out for just 34, meaning that we won by 25 runs. This was a superb effort from the whole team – man of the match was the outstanding Bailey Smyth, who scored 20 runs and took some key wickets, but there were some superb performances from all the other players too. The team in full was Faad Khan, Daniel Schofield, James Schofield, Sadat Ibrahim, Oliver Greenwood, Luke Barrett, Subaan Ali, Ellis Taylor, Bailey Smyth, Kai Creswell and Adam Deaville.
The Drama and Dance Showcases took place on two separate evenings just before the half term holidays, in the Gracie Fields Theatre. It was an absolute pleasure to see the fantastic performances from all the talented youngsters we have at Oulder Hill. Thank you to all involved and also to all the friends and family who came to support.
