All Souls' pupils celebrating
Staff and pupils at All Souls’ Primary are delighted following an announcement by Ofsted that their school has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ in a recent inspection.
The three Ofsted inspectors praised the high quality teaching, which whenever possible, is based on real-life activities.
The school, in Heywood, currently has a very high proportion of pupils working at or above the expected levels in both English and mathematics. The inspectors commented that with this high attainment and good habits of attendance and punctuality, pupils are extremely well prepared for their future education.
Additionally, the inspection recognised that staff know their pupils exceedingly well and achievement for boys and girls is outstanding, including those who have special education needs and/or disabilities.
Headteacher Gaynor Rennie said they are all delighted with the outcome: “The staff, governors, pupils and parents are tireless in their pursuit of excellence for our pupils and this is evident from the outstanding grades awarded.
“All Souls’ is a family school which values the happiness and enjoyment of pupils’ learning above everything.
“Our children are the future generation and we believe that we lay a solid foundation for our all of our pupils’ to achieve success now and in the future.”
Ofsted also recognised the excellent leadership and management by the headteacher and deputy headteacher and commented that they had created a very strong sense of teamwork.
Councillor Donna Martin, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families, said: “Congratulations to all the staff and pupils at All Souls’ CE.
“It is a fantastic achievement and one which everyone at the school should be really proud of.”
