Woman found seriously injured in street had been attacked

Detectives believe a woman found seriously injured in a Rochdale side street was attacked.
Police were called to an alleyway between Yorkshire Street and Newgate by the ambulance service shortly before 5.30am on Saturday (28 May).
The woman, aged 20, was found injured on the ground in her nightdress by two women a short time earlier.
She was taken to hospital for treatment to serious head and facial injuries and remains in a serious but stable condition.
It is not believed the woman had been at her home address that evening and had probably been staying elsewhere.
She was found in what appears to be a light coloured nightdress and was also barefoot.
Detective Inspector Vicky Shaw, said: "Unusually this woman was in a night dress and barefoot when she was found and I am certain someone will have seen her at some point.
"Did you pass her on the street or spend time with her on Friday night or Saturday morning?
"It is vital we know what her last movements were so we can establish exactly who attacked her and when."
Anyone with information is asked to call Rochdale CID on 0161 856 4644, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
