The body of a man has been found inside Sartex Quilts and Textiles Ltd on Norwich Street.

Fire-fighters tackled a huge blaze at the mill building last night (25 May). The man, who hasn’t been named, was found today, Thursday 26 May.

The fire broke out at the building at around 6.00pm and was tackled by over 40 fire-fighters from across the region.

Five workers were in the building at the time of the fire, four people managed to escape. The man who has been found is understood to be the fifth person who hadn’t been accounted for.

An investigation with the fire service and Health and Safety Executive is ongoing and but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
