Fire update: Oldham Road reopened

Fire fighters at the fire
Oldham Road has reopened following a fire at Sartex Quilts and Textiles Ltd.
The fire broke out at around 6.00pm yesterday (25 May).
The fire service received over forty 999 calls from members of the public about the fire on Norwich Street close to Oldham Road and Durham Street.
Crews from Rochdale, Heywood, Bury, Chadderton, Oldham, Blackley, Hyde and Agecroft attended. Two aerial appliances were also in use.
Fire-fighters are still in attendance today (26 May) and are carrying out a damping down operation.
One man who worked at the building hasn’t been accounted for.
Norwich Street remains closed.
