Many thanks to the students who attended the CEPA Liverpool visit this week. A fantastic day was enjoyed by staff and students alike, as we toured the Liverpool Tate Gallery, the FACT Film and media Centre and attended a Drama Workshop at the Liverpool Everyman Theatre. The group were also treated to a performance of ‘Macbeth’ featuring; Gemma Redgrave and David Morrisey.

Pupils currently in Year 10 are joining Mr DeCourcey over half term to rehearse their ‘Cyberbullying’ Theatre-in – Education pieces. Pupils are to report to the foyer at 9.30am promptly on Wednesday 1 June. Late pupils will not be admitted. They will rehearse until 12.30pm.
Our six Rochdale reporters will be working with Norman Warwick over half term as they prepare a new set of interviews for their weekly column. Well done to the students for their regular contribution and dedication over the holidays.
We wish Kurtis Tweedale in Year 9 good luck as he performs a short monologue at the ‘Voices of Well Being’ conference that takes place at Richmond Hall on Wednesday 1 June. Kurtis has learnt the ten minute performance which will introduce the theme of ‘young voices’ to a mixed audience. Good luck Kurtis!
Tickets for our forthcoming show, ‘Tales from the Midnight Mangroves’ on Friday 24 June are now on sale. The performance promises to be a gripping story about two plane crash survivors as they reach an old shack in the mysterious Midnight Mangroves. The show starts at 7.00pm and lasts an hour. Tickets are available in advance only, priced at £3.00 (no concessions). We welcome families and friends of school.
A set of posters promoting effective group work will be issued to primary schools over the next few weeks. The resource set is given to promote the value of group work across all years.
