Healey Primary School
School closes on Friday for the half term break. Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped with the Spring Tea on Tuesday. We hosted an afternoon concert for almost 100 senior citizens and their carers. The school kitchen once again did us proud with some excellent and mouth watering strawberry cream scones, cakes and biscuits. The highlight of the concert was the presentation of the Rochdale Childer Award for 2011 to our marvellous Year 6 young man Fred Carty.
Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Cup last Friday:
Reception: Lea Dolan
Year 1: Ved Keshe
Year 2: Jamie Watts
Year 3: Alex Butterworth
Year 4: Lewis Whittles
Year 5: Bethany Stead
Year 6: Christopher Harrop
Year 2 manage 100 per cent attendance again, closely followed by Year 3 and Year 1 who were almost there.
The Summer Soccer School assembly is on the first day back from the weeks holiday. On Tuesday and Wednesday 7 and 8 June, Year 5 are going to Hollingworth Lake to take part in outdoor pursuits. On Tuesday Year 6 are also out on Tuesday in the afternoon, they are walking down to Falinge Park school for a science lesson on Rock Salt.
Please don’t forget to order your Rotary Box. This is something we do every year and is so worthwhile, we send the boxes to orphanages in Eastern Europe. The children there are fed and clothed, but there is absolutely no money left for toys or little things like hair slides and ribbons – the things that are so simple, yet give so much pleasure to someone less fortunate. Please help us do something easy, that makes so much difference. Boxes are £1 to cover fuel costs for transportation.
Have a happy holiday.
