The Rochdale Sixth Form College came ‘highly commended’ in the Best Education Development category at the annual North West Region Building Excellence Awards evening.
The event saw the best in construction in the North West recognised by Local Authority Building Control.
The college, which opened in September, was beaten to the winning position by the Culcheth High School in Warrington.
The building was designed by Seven Architecture and was awarded the Rochdale Borough Design Award earlier this year.
Simon Parker, Practice Director at Seven Architecture said he was “delighted” with the award.
He added: “It was a strong field from across the North West and we are very very pleased to come highly commended.”
The building was nominated by Rochdale Council, Mr Parker, added: “We have enjoyed a good working relationship with Rochdale Council and we are very pleased.”
