Date published: 22 May 2011

Transport for Greater Manchester is advising passengers and motorists to plan for significant disruption and changes to public transport and the roads on Monday (23 May) as Manchester City FC holds its FA Cup victory parade in the city centre.

Due to the number of spectators anticipated, people should expect city centre roads and bus, train and tram services to be much busier on Monday, and allow extra time for their journeys as a result.

The parade is due to start at 6.00pm and will follow Albert Square, Princess Street, Portland Street, Newton Street, Great Ancoats Street, Every Street, Ashton New Road and Rowsley Street before ending at the City of Manchester Stadium.

The following bus services will be affected: 8, 12, 15, 16, 32, 33, X34, 36, 37, 41, 42, 42A, 43, 44, 48, 50, X50, 53, X57, X58, 71, 73, 84, 85, 86, 99, 101, 104, 105, 109, 111, 130, 142, 143, 157, 167, 192, 197, 201, 203, 204, 205, 206, 216, 217, 218, 219, 221, 231, 236, 237, 250, 255, 256, 263, 264, X41, X43, X44, 84, 131 and Metroshuttles 1, 2 and 3.

No bus services will run to or from the Piccadilly Gardens area after 4.00pm. Information will be provided at affected bus stops and specific service changes will be available online at www.tfgm.com.

Shortly before and during the parade, Metrolink services will run from Altrincham to Bury direct and from Eccles to Victoria - no services will run to Piccadilly Gardens or Piccadilly railway station.

Information will be available at both Metrolink stops and Travel Safe Officers will also be there during the service changes to help passengers. Due to the nature of the event, services are subject to further change on the day. Regular service updates are available at www.metrolink.co.uk.
