New cabinet announced

The Leader of Rochdale Council, Councillor Colin Lambert, has announced his new cabinet team.
Labour now has overall control of the Council after leaving the local election with 29 seats and reaching the 31 mark within days following defections from the short-lived Independent Alliance group.
There has been a slight change to the Cabinet make-up following the local elections.
Councillor Peter Williams will remain the Cabinet member for Corporate Services and economic development.
Councillor Farooq Ahmed will remain as the Cabinet member for Finance.
Councillor Jacqui Beswick will continue as the Cabinet member for Performance and Partnership.
Councillor Linda Robinson will also continue as Cabinet member for Health, Adult Care and Housing.
Councillor Donna Martin will take over the role as Cabinet member for Children, Schools and Families.
Councillor Martin Burke will be come the Cabinet member for Internal and Environmental Services.
Council Leader Colin Lambert said: “My cabinet and I are dedicated to delivering residents value for money council services and focusing on the areas that matter most to them. Although we are still to face more reductions in spending and have difficult decisions to make, I want to make sure we do everything we can to protect vital services. We will do everything we can to steer the borough to a better future.”
