Date published: 17 May 2011

This week’s theme was Our Church and The Ten Commandments. Our Enterprise capability was Communication.

Celia Maloney, ex Head of Year 7 and representative for Francis House, came into assembly to receive a cheque for £2,290.79 from the year 7 Lenten Charity fund raising events during Lent. She also handed out prizes to the student in each form who had collected the largest amount. A trophy and a £5 gift voucher were presented to the following pupils for their generosity and commitment to our Lenten Charity Fun Run: Matthew Crane, Claudia Roland, Elise Coburn, Pearl Kaye, Lorna Matthews, Lewis Barrett, Leah Keenan, Shauna Golding, Anna Skinner and Jack Green.

"You have to be in to win" - Well Done Mr McHale and form 7.10 with a weekly attendance of 100%. Congratulations to Mason Collins, form 7.2, this week’s attendance challenge winner.

Homework club is open at 1.30 each lunchtime in L3 with Mrs Whitmore and Mrs Rushton and Year 7 learners can now enjoy St Cuthbert's daily radio broadcast each lunchtime in the year 7 area. A reminder that late detentions and smart card detentions are now served after school, this is in line with whole school procedures.

Our Adult Learning Group is still proving to be popular – a group of parents and friends of the school come together each Tuesday morning to improve their computing skills. The facilities in our Partnership Learning Centre are available for all parents and local businesses who wish to produce resources or develop their own learning. Please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).
