Attendance
The winner of the attendance certificate for week ending 13 May 2011 was Yellow Class, with an attendance of 100%. Well done to Yellow Class. The overall attendance for the school was 96.1%.

Holidays during school time
Can I remind you that children should not be withdrawn from school during term time for a holiday. If it is exceptional circumstances it may be authorised only if you have completed the required paperwork from the school office. School must pass this information to the DfES which now keeps a record about all the children in the country. I cannot authorise more than ten days for any reason.

Unit one
Please ensure that all children have a sunhat in school and that sun cream is applied in the morning as they have access to play outdoors for most of the day. Children will not be able to go outside unless they are equipped for the warm weather. We can also not stress enough how important it is to clearly label all items of your child’s clothing, especially shoes and not forgetting sunhats when they are brought in. Please note staff are not responsible for lost clothing and a lot of time is being wasted looking for unlabelled items. If you do think your child has come home in another child’s property please return them to school as soon as possible.

School meals
The children have told us that they are really enjoying our new school dinner system. They are enjoying choosing their food and knowing that it is prepared for them so guaranteeing they have their first choice. If you would like your child to have school dinners please let us know before half term so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Holiday
Can I remind you that school closes on Friday 27 May at 3.15pm for the Whitsun holiday week and re-opens on Monday 6 June 2011.
